When a standard template is not the right choice

Use a qualified Irish solicitor rather than forcing your circumstances into a template if, for example:

  • you have a blended family or children from different relationships and the intended distribution is not straightforward;
  • you want to exclude a spouse, civil partner or child, or treat children very differently;
  • you own property or significant assets outside Ireland;
  • you own a business or farm and need succession planning;
  • you want bespoke trusts or significant tax planning;
  • there is an active family dispute or concern about capacity or undue influence; or
  • you are unsure whether a template reflects what you want to achieve.
